Upset Bid Notice
PURSUANT TO NCGS 160A-269
TAKE NOTICE that the Town of Woodland has received an upset bid to purchase the parcel of property hereinbelow described, which is located at 307 Cherry Street in the Town of Woodland, for the sum of Twenty Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000). Any person, firm, or corporation interested in purchasing the property may raise the bid by submitting a sealed offer to the office of the Town Clerk before 5:00 p.m. on December 22, 2020. The above bid must be raised by not less than ten percent (10%) of the first $1,000 and five percent (5%) of the remainder. When a bid is raised, the bidder shall deposit with the Town Clerk five percent (5%) of the increased bid with a certified check or cashier’s check. At the end of the 10-day period, the Town Clerk shall open the bids, if any, and the highest such bid will become the new offer, and the Town Clerk shall re-advertise the offer of the increased bid, and shall continue to do so until a 10-day period has passed without any qualifying upset bid having been received, at which time the Board of Commissioners of the Town of Woodland may accept the offer and sell the property to the highest bidder. The Board may, at any time, reject any and all offers. The Subject Property is being sold “as is” and is described as follows:
Parcel number 0603087 in the Northampton County tax records is the former Woodland National Guard Armory. 14,105 square feet, 5.72 acres of land, 800 sq. ft. of chain link fence, steel storage building, paved parking lot. This property is zoned as M1, light manufacturing. Traces of lead have been detected.
